The very latest Roto Solid B butt hinges are now available to PVC and timber door manufacturers. These hinges have been designed in consultation with a number of door manufacturers to be sure they make production as cost effective as possible and also provide selling points for end users.

If you are using any commercial PVC profile or making timber doors with a standard Eurogroove fitting, you can take advantage of these products, which are designed for EN RC2 for security.

Slimline look

A key advantage is the slim, minimal design. Additionally, the internal mechanism is designed so that there is no visible offset between the frame and sash components. This is the case even when the lateral adjustment is at the maximum. The hinges always look neat and uniform to the eye.

Standardised range

Roto Solid B is a standardised range of hinges with three variables. The hinges are either 18 or 20 mm diameter and in each size there is a two-part and three-part model. Within each size option, the hinge can be supplied either in a version that screws into the sash overlap, or a rebate-screwed version that fits into the sash side Eurogroove.

On the rebate-screwed version, you can insert an extra fixing screw into the sash, in order to increase stability on profiles without steel reinforcement. The frame mounting parts remain the same regardless of the height or sash-fixing style.

Sash loadings up to 160 kg

Depending on the model of hinge chosen, the maximum sash loadings are 80 kg, 120 kg and 160 kg. You can therefore use this range of hinges on an incredibly wide range of residential door designs.

Simple installation

Your fitting teams will be able to mount the hinges very quickly and accurately. No routing of either the frame or sash is required, and they can ensure precise placement of the screw fixing holes with the dedicated Roto drilling jig.

Easy adjustment

Once the door is hung, the hinges can be adjusted in three dimensions without the need to unhinge the door. The only tool required is a 4mm hex key. Height adjustment is very simple: this is done by inserting the key in the base of the frame part. The lateral and compression adjustment can be achieved with a simple process: you undo the two clamping screws, make the adjustment with a hex key and then re-tighten the clamping screws.

A very good level of dimensional compensation is possible. The range of adjustments is as follows:

  • Height +4/–2 mm
  • Gasket +/– 1.5 mm
  • Lateral +/– 3 mm

Five standard colours
