The 21st edition of Polyclose took place in Ghent, Belgium last month. Billed as a networking and trade fair for windows, doors, sun blinds, facades, and access technology, the event attracted 12,108 visitors over the course of three days. Roto was one of the 200 exhibitors.

At the close of the show, Gerry Claassens, Head of Sales for Benelux, said, “We’ve had a very busy three days. On the night before the opening day, there were warnings of snow in Belgium and the Netherlands, so I was wondering if visitor numbers would be affected, but in the end Wednesday was very well attended, as were all three days.”

“When we take part in an exhibition, we have three goals. One is networking with existing customers as part of maintaining our partnerships with them. The second is cross-selling by presenting our customers with products they are not currently using. The third is to find new prospects that have not worked with Roto before. This event has been very positive in all three areas, so it has been well worth doing,” he said.

When asked which items on the stand attracted the most interest, Gerry replied, “All the exhibits gained a lot of interest, but I would say the top two were probably the Door Safe A Tandeo lock and Patio Inowa.

“The Tandeo door lock obviously has the advantage of automatic locking, which can be switched off in daytime mode. Along with the security benefits, this is interesting to many PVC fabricators because keeping the door fully locked can help avoid deformation of the sash and frame, especially on doors that use special colors of PVC,” he explained.

“Patio Inowa has many selling points, the top three being its smooth operation, the big range of possible sizes, and its weather tightness. The last of those makes it stormproof and helps with energy efficiency.”

“Starting the year with an exhibition has been a great way for us to get the team together with a purpose and set us up for 2024,” he said. “You could say this has been the starter, and the main meal is yet to come, and that is Fensterbau in March. We look forward to seeing customers there again, on a stand where we can give them an even bigger Roto experience.”
