BAU 2025 attracted over 180,000 visitors to Munich in January and Roto was one of 2,230 exhibitors at the five day event. Our stand, themed around the “Roto City” concept, was the biggest we’ve ever had at this fair. It was designed to show windows and doors in realistic room situations from both private and public buildings, allowing visitors to fully appreciate the benefits provided by the Roto products.

Fully international event
“This was the first edition of BAU at which over half of the exhibitors were from outside Germany”, said Gerry Claassens, head of sales for Roto Benelux. “It shows how BAU is more and more becoming a fully international event, not just focused on Germany anymore. There was a lot of interest in the Roto stand, and I would like to thank all the visitors from the Benelux region for coming to see what we have to offer”.

Roto NX | C – launching in 2025
“In terms of the products we showed, there was interest in all of them”, Gerry continued. “In particular Roto NX | C, our new concealed hinge side, which is going to be our big product rollout this year. It shows how Roto keeps developing product ranges to give our customers new opportunities. With Roto NX | C, you can make windows taller, heavier and on slim profiles, all with the benefits of hidden hinges”.
Vesa Nenye, who has overall responsibility for sales in the UK and Ireland, was also impressed with the attendance. “This edition of BAU was much busier than before”, he says. “There is also a wider range of products on display across the board. From Roto’s side, we had PVC and timber installations now included and not just aluminium window products as in previous years”.
Restrictor holds attention
When asked which products were most interesting to visitors from his market, Vesa replied, “One item that caught the attention of British customers is the ELA restrictor. It is very useful to the UK market because it can be used in hotels, schools or any building where child safety is required.
“The restrictor prevents the window opening more than 89 mm, therefore meeting child safety standards. If full opening is needed, it can be released with a key via the lockable handle. Once you close the window again the ELA restrictor is automatically re-engaged. It is a visually very pleasing solution, as everything is concealed and the use of the key is the same as with a normal locking handle.
“Another item that was of interest to us was a window using Roto NX | C hardware to make an outward-opening solution. This could have a lot of potential in the UK for making large and heavy open out sashes”.

Patio Inowa MAX
Technical Sales Manager Henrik Poulsen was at the fair to represent Roto Scandinavia. “A product like Patio Inowa MAX gained much interest”, he reported. “Customers can use it to make large sliding doors from wood that are still very easy to operate and have exceptional sealing”.
