In this article, our marketing specialist Subana Akhmedova explains how the Roto Door range provides a portfolio of coordinated products, bringing premium benefits while making manufacturing easier.
For today’s door manufacturers, customer expectations are continuing to evolve. Homeowners desire doors with a strong, refined aesthetic. They also want their door to perform in terms of security, convenience and thermal performance.
To achieve this, you need door hardware and accessories that work reliably together. From your manufacturing point of view, you want to simplify production, reduce complexity and offer a lot of flexibility, so that you can meet a wide variety of project requirements.
This is exactly where the Roto DoorSafe portfolio delivers value.
DoorSafe combines all of our Roto door system expertise into one coordinated portfolio for PVC, timber and aluminium external doors.
It brings together door hinges, multipoint locking systems, thresholds and sealing solutions. The range includes:
● Roto Solid door hinges
● Roto Safe multipoint locking systems
● Roto Eifel threshold systems
● Deventer sealing solutions
These are designed to work together and make a complete, integrated door system. With one brand supplier you can cover the requirements for every main entrance door that comes off your production line.
Hinge solutions: for all door types
Our Roto Solid range offers different hinge solutions for a wide range of entrance door applications. This includes screw-on hinges, butt hinges and concealed hinges, allowing you to select the appropriate solution depending on the frame material and door design.
For doors with overlapping or inset panels, the Roto Solid B butt hinge range is suitable on all materials. Depending on the version, sash weights of up to 160 kg are possible.
These slim butt hinges have integrated adjustment mechanisms that help maintain a clean appearance. Even if a hinge is adjusted to the maximum, there is no visible gap: it always looks neat with everything in line.
For aluminium entrance doors, Roto Solid C offers a concealed hinge solution. It supports sash weights of up to 140 kg and opening angles of up to 110°.
These concealed hinges are designed to be fabricator and installer friendly. Installation is supported by features including the FixClick function and single-point height adjustment.
Multipoint locking: security and operating convenience
Security and convenience are two of the most important concerns when it comes to door locks.
In the Roto Safe product family we have locks that are operated by turning a key or by operating the handle lever. There are also mechanical-automatic and electromechanical multipoint locking systems. Among those are the mechanical-automatic Roto Safe A | Tandeo and the electromechanical Roto Safe E | Eneo A. Both of these models feature three automatically extending security locking points, which engage as soon as the door closes.
With automatic locking, the door is considered locked from an insurance perspective as soon as the door is closed. This is an important benefit for your end users, giving them both convenience and peace of mind.
For even more convenience, the electromechanical Eneo A adds automatic unlocking via its preassembled motor-driven unit, delivering fast and quiet operation with simple Plug & Play installation.
Modular solutions: flexibility and efficiency
For manufacturers, flexibility in stockholding and logistics is just as important as product performance.
Our Roto engineers design as many items as possible with a modular approach. Standard frame components can be used across multiple locking solutions, helping reduce inventory complexity.
A strong example of modularity is the Tandeo Upgrade-Kit, which allows you to upgrade the mechanical-automatic Tandeo lock to an electromechanical version when required. This means that, instead of holding two different full-sized lock models, you can stock the same lock for use on every door and upgrade it when required.
Solution for double-leaf doors
Another example of one component making a big difference is in the area of double-leaf doors. The RC 2-compatible lever-operated espagnolette Standard works on both timber and PVC doors, providing a neat and easy-to-use solution for the second leaf. It is compatible with all of our multipoint locks and suitable for sash rebate heights up to 3000 mm.
Thresholds: for access and insulation
No door set is complete without a good threshold solution. The Roto Eifel range provides an extensive portfolio of threshold options and accessories for main entrances and balcony doors.
To cover your aesthetic requirements there are both rounded and angular designs, named Curve and Edge, to fit in with the design language of the building.
Our thresholds are designed with thermal separation to help reduce heat loss, improve insulation, and support higher energy performance levels.
Accessories include a range of different retainer options to provide a neat and long-lasting connection between the threshold and door frame. There are also three different weather profile strips, each providing protection against driving rain.
Automatic floor-door seals are also available to help shut out draughts, dust and outside noise.
