The Roto Western Europe team is looking forward to developing business in the UK and Ireland, with a new country manager assisted by the UK-based head of customer service.
Søren Milter Nielsen, who has over a decade of experience with Roto and has served as Head of Customers and Markets for Scandinavia since 2019, now includes the UK and Ireland in his area of responsibility.
“I’m very pleased to have taken on this role”, says Søren. “It is good for our future development of business in the UK and Ireland that we can look at these markets along with Scandinavia. All have similar window types, for example open-out, that mark them out from the rest of Europe”.
“I am looking forward to working with the UK team of Alan Couper, Dave Smith, David Walker and Tom Edwards, and to expanding cooperation with Paul Tracey and his team. We are looking at the possibility of a serviced office in central England, which the team can use for flexible working and meetings”.

Paul Tracey, who has served over 35 years with Roto, currently heads up the Roto Western Europe Customer Service Hub (CSH), which serves clients in the Western Europe sales area. “Last year we established the Customer Service Hub with experienced staff from across the region”, Paul explains. “Each team member has their own specialisation, but they are all on hand to deal with customer enquiries, which mainly come in via our email ticket system and are responded to on a first-come, first-served basis”.
“As well as overseeing customer service, I’m going to be the person assisting Søren on the ground in the UK”.
Søren explains further: “Both the UK and Ireland markets have significant future potential for Roto hardware, weatherseals and accessories”, he says. “We want to look for product gaps in these markets and develop new solutions with our partners. This is an opportunity both for our existing partners and for any companies that are not currently working with Roto. If you want to have the best technology to make your doors and windows work better, then work with us. This way, you can use premium products made from high quality materials, with the advantages and benefits to sell onto your customers”.
Chris Cauwenberghs, regional head of Roto Western Europe, said, “We congratulate Søren on his appointment. He is already known to the team in the UK and he brings a lot of experience, focus and ideas. On top of this, we both believe strongly in empowering people to create a strong triangle: sales team, customer service and local management.
“The UK and Ireland markets cover a population of over 70 million people, nearly as big as Germany. We see this as an area with great potential in the medium and longer term. Demand for energy efficient windows and doors, with high levels of accessibility, safety, security and functionality, is only going to increase as building standards are raised. Roto helps window and door manufacturers meet all these requirements, so we are the perfect hardware and weatherseal partner for the longer term”.
